Get your vault jumpsuits and bottle caps ready — a reality show inspired by Amazon Prime Video’s Fallout is coming to the small screen.
The streamer announced in January 2025 that Fallout Shelter, a new competition series, is officially in the works and they’re looking for fans of the franchise to join the cast. The show will focus heavily on “deeply social, psychological and narrative-driven gameplay” and “choice-driven ethos,” much like the Ella Purnell-led scripted series based on the popular video game.
Fallout began airing its second season in December 2025, documenting Lucy (Purnell) as she searches for her father, Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan), after finding out that he was responsible for decimating Shady Sands. She teams up with The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) in search of New Vegas where Hank is hiding out in a Vault-Tec facility and simply up to no good.

What Is ‘Fallout Shelter’ About?
Fallout Shelter will quite literally take lucky fans inside of the Vault-Tec vaults where they’ll get to immerse themselves in a high-pressure Squid Game-like experience. They’ll play a series of games to test their survival and social skills and, with the right strategy, potentially earn themselves some money.
“Set inside Vault-Tec’s bomb-proof vaults, Fallout Shelter drops a diverse group of contestants into an immersive, high-stakes world inspired by the games’ signature dark humor, retro-futurism and post-apocalyptic survival storytelling,” the show’s official logline says. “Across a series of escalating challenges, strategic dilemmas and moral crossroads, contestants must prove their ingenuity, teamwork and resilience as they compete for safety, power and ultimately a huge cash prize.”
Fallout Shelter shares the name of the 2015 video game where players could build and control their own vaults virtually. The show will be produced by Studio Lambert, the production company behind Undercover Boss, The Circle, The Traitors and Squid Game: The Challenge.

Fallout’s official social media accounts shared a teaser on social media calling all fans who may be interested in participating in the game show.
“Good morning, prospective Vault Dwellers! In order to best serve you in What Comes Next, we need volunteers for a very real, very scientific opportunity to beta test a better society,” the caption of the post read. “Visit this website if you’d like to join Fallout Shelter, a new series full of escalating challenges, strategic dilemmas, and moral conundrums. Good luck!”
In the animated clip accompanying the post, Vault Boy informs viewers that there is a “threat detected” and reveals “operation take shelter” has been initiated.

Amazon Prime will deliver 10 episodes of the series. A premiere date has not yet been announced, however, fans have some other news to celebrate at the moment: Fallout was already renewed for season 3 before season 2 even began airing.
