Missouri has landed a transfer commitment from former Minnesota wide receiver Kenric Lanier II, according to multiple reports.
According to a report from On3’s Pete Nakos, Lanier has already signed with the Tigers, meaning there will be no late drama from a team looking to hijack the move. Lanier is a rising redshirt junior with 2 years of eligibility to use at Mizzou after spending 3 years with Minnesota.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound wideout is a native of Georgia. He played in 1 game as a first-year receiver during the 2023 season. In 2024, he played offensive snaps in 9 games but made just a single catch.
Lanier was once again involved with the offense in 2025, but he struggled to produce much. He appeared in 10 games, played 149 offensive snaps, but caught just 3 of his 5 targets for 79 yards.
Most of Lanier’s action to this point in his career has come as a run-blocker. PFF graded him at 72.0 as a run-blocker in 2024. He graded slightly worse in 2025, but he’ll presumably be coming to Mizzou looking to get more involved as a pass-catcher.
The Tigers’ receiver rotation has undergone a major overhaul this offseason. Two wide receivers exhausted their eligibility. Four others entered the transfer portal. The only returning scholarship players from the 2025 roster are a trio of freshmen — Donovan Olugbode, Shaun Terry II, and DaMarion Fowlkes.
Lanier becomes the fourth receiver to transfer to Mizzou during the winter window.
