ROCHESTER, N.Y. – After yesterday’s snowfall, most of the region is seeing 3-6″ of snow on the ground with many areas mainly near the lakeshore and areas west of Rochester getting 6-12″. Some spots south of Buffalo saw nearly 2 feet. A little more lake effect snow will continue this morning with some more light snow showers this afternoon, but overall it’s the frigid air that will be more notable today.
Temperatures will climb only to the mid 20s with wind chills in the teens.
Tomorrow will feature more snow showers mainly in the AM and early PM, but it will be slightly less cold with temperatures in the low 30s.
Sunday lake effect snow off of Lake Erie may reach into the area but other spots will see breaks of sun as temperatures again dip back down into the 20s. Overall minor accumulation from the snow today through Sunday.
MLK Jr. Day is looking similarly cold and flaky, this time with an added breeze with gusts up to 35 MPH. This will cause a wind chill in the single digits.
Next week the frigid air really makes itself known. Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the teens at best with wind chills in the negatives.
