USC continued to replenish its tight end room with the addition of Wisconsin transfer Tucker Ashcraft.
The three-star Wisconsin transfer both committed and signed with the Trojans on Thursday. Edge rusher Zuriah Fisher and cornerback Jontez Williams, who had both committed to USC out of the transfer portal, put pen to paper and signed with USC on the same day.
“Some things you’re going to get out of me is a gritty, hard-nosed guy who’s ready to work,” Ashcraft said in a video posted to USC football’s social media channels on Thursday.
Ashcraft, who is 6-foot-5 and 260 pounds, was limited in his junior season due to a left leg injury sustained in fall training camp. He played in four games and had his best outing in the Badgers’ Nov. 29 road game at Minnesota, when he had two catches for 10 yards.
He also received a 65.5% grade in pass blocking from Pro Football Focus for the season.
He saw success early on, though, in his freshman and sophomore years. Ashcraft hauled in eight passes for 86 yards and a touchdown in 2023 and had 12 catches for 832 yards and one touchdown in 2024.
USC lost both of its starting tight ends from the 2025 season when Lake McRee declared for the 2026 NFL Draft and Walker Lyons transferred to BYU.
If the Trojans want to continue to use sets involving two tight ends next season, they still have options to choose from.
Carson Tabaracci and Taniela Tupou received the majority of playing time at tight end during the Trojans’ loss to TCU in the Alamo Bowl and are returning next season. USC also has an incoming tight end in freshman Mark Bowman, who was part of the No. 1 2026 signing class in the nation.
