The 74-year-old father revealed on the podcast, "Joe Rogan Experience," that he gave unusual parenting advice to them. "I'm the only father in the world that does not encourage their kids to work," he said, then laughed. "It's like, what do you want to go to work for?"
The rocker also talked about being close to his other child. "I do have a daughter that's really sick," Mellencamp told the host. He was referring to Teddi Mellencamp, who was formerly on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. "And she's suffering right now. But that kid used to call me up, and I'd go, 'Teddi, you can have a thought without asking me,'" He laughed at the comment.
