ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Snow amounts have ranged from an inch or two east of Rochester, with amounts 3-5 inches near and west of Rochester Thursday morning. The storm snow is tapering off as lake effect snow begins to develop and will continue at times into the afternoon and evening. Look for additional snow amounts of one to three inches for areas north of the Thruway and west of 390. Coating to an inch or two for the Finger Lakes region. Threat Tracker will be Yellow for the rest of Thursday as wintry conditions will persist into tonight with some slick roads, blowing snow and bitter cold. Feel Like windchill readings dip below zero. Lake effect snow may bring issues to the evening commute. After that the snow impacts will be localized to areas along Rt. 104 into early Friday morning. Storm totals from last night through tonight will average 3-6″ for much of the region with lesser amounts to the south and some locations closer to Lake Ontario getting over half a foot.
On Friday a few lake flakes in the morning then mostly cloudy skies with scattered snow showers in the afternoon. Any additional accumulations will be light.
