SENECA COUNTY, N.Y. — An inmate at Five Points Correctional Facility in Romulus pleaded guilty Wednesday to murder in the death of his cellmate. According to prosecutors, Kevin Farley, 43, strangled cellmate Adam Lafferty, 42, during the night of Dec. 22 into Dec. 23, 2024.
Farley, who was serving a sentence of 24 years to life in prison for a 2016 murder conviction out of Madison County, strangled Lafferty and remained in the cell throughout the night while Laffery died. Lafferty was found dead in his bed in the morning, strangled with a homemade ligature and a metal device.
Seneca County Judge Barry Porsche sentenced Farley to an additional 25 years to life.
“Today Adam Lafferty’s family was able to experience a modicum of justice, watchingthe man who brutally murdered their family member over a year ago admit his guilt andbe sentenced. I join with Lafferty’s family imploring the New York State Parole Boardto never release Farley back into the community,” Seneca CountyDistrict Attorney John Nabinger stated.
