Mrs. Faye Lambert

A precious soul, Mrs. Faye Lambert, a homemaker of the Elmwood Community, departed her earthly journey with her family at her bedside at 11:30 p.m. Monday evening. She was pronounced deceased at the age of 83 at 1:05 a.m. Tuesday morning January 13, 2026 at her Cookeville Highway home by Gentiva Hospice of Livingston.

Bro. Floyd Massey will officiate at the 11 a.m. Saturday morning January 17th funeral services which were conducted from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow between her husband, George at the Dickens Cemetery in the Maggart Community.

The Lambert family will be receiving friends on Friday January 16th from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Sanderson in Carthage and again on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services.

She was the only child of the late Hugh Waterson “Buster” Martin who died January 16, 1991 at the age of 80 and Ruby Bell Massey Martin who died June 27, 1966 at the age of 48 and was born Alice Faye Martin in the Maggart Community on January 26, 1942.

As a member of the 1960 graduating class at Smith County High School, she majored in commercial, was a member of the future homemakers of America all four years and her junior and senior year received her chapter degrees. She was in the Beta Club and her senior year was on the OWL staff and a member of the Office staff.

The statement made of her in the ’60 Owl annual was; A sweeter woman never drew a breath”.

At the Sycamore Church of Christ in Cookeville on May 27, 1961, she was united in marriage to Chestnut Mound resident, George Wilburn Lambert. He preceded her in death at the age of 62 on January 17, 2003 following over forty-one years of wonderful marriage.

Their daughter. Kathy Lynn Lambet Grisham of the Elmwood Community, died in her sleep on October 24, 2025 following declining health.

The Lamberts were also preceded in death by Karen’s husband, Phil Glover who died February 21, 2011 at the age of 46.

Mrs. Lambert was saved as a young girl and was a member of the Maggart United Methodist Church.

In addition to being a housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she also was a caretaker for several young children during her lifetime and was adored by all of them because she treated them as her own children.

Mrs. Lambert possessed a kind attitude and endearing spirit and was highly respected by all who knew her.

Surviving are her two daughters, Karen Lambert Glover and Kelly Lambert Martin and husband Brandon all of the Elmwood Community; five grandchildren, Robin Lynn Grisham and wife Daphney of Westmoreland, Stephen Grisham and wife Brandy of the Elmwood Community, Katie Martin and husband Isaac Olvera of Cookeville, Chloe Martin and Everlee Martin, both of the Elmwood Community; three great-grandchildren, Lily and Ruth Grisham, and Cameron Olvera.

Pallbearers: Brandon Martin, Robin Lynn Grisham, Stephen Grisham & Robin Ward Grisham, Isaac Olvera & Jeff Highers.
