As Mississippi State prepares to enter year three of the Jeff Lebby era in 2026, it will have an SEC transfer in its defensive line room.
Dealyn Evans, who spent two years with Texas A&M, signed with the Bulldogs on Tuesday. Mississippi State announced the news via a post on X on Tuesday evening.
Evans was a promising prospect in the class of 2024, ranking just outside of the top 20 defensive linemen in the country. After official visits to Alabama, Georgia Tech, Florida, TCU, and Texas A&M, the Longview, Texas, product ultimately committed to and signed with the Aggies.
Evans’ role has mainly been as a reserve during his two seasons in College Station. After playing in two games for the Aggies in 2024 and redshirting, he appeared in all 13 games in 2025, accumulating eight tackles and 1.5 tackles for a loss.

Evans’ signing makes him the 19th player to join the Bulldogs from the portal. The list of outgoing players is longer as a total of 35 players entered the portal when it opened.
Mississippi State finished 5-8 in 2025. That included a 43-29 loss to Wake Forest in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl.
