ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A male has been taken into custody after reportedly threatening a female with a handgun.

Rochester Police said he entered a residence on Jay Street near Ries Street, leading police to set up a perimeter around the residence shortly before 4 p.m. The male later exited the home and was detained by officers without incident, police say. No injuries were reported.

The investigation is ongoing, but Jay Street has reopened to both vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
