When I found out that all three Chicago teams were playing tonight, I figured at least two would win — but I never would’ve guessed all three and the Bulls would be one of them. In surprisingly dominant fashion, the Bulls joined the Bears in victory even before their game even ended, making Chicago native and Packers fan Anthony Davis sit there and watch both his team get demolished by Chicago.

— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) January 10, 2026First Half: Run Chicago, Run
Everyone deserves a bit of a break. The Bulls got exactly that when their game against the Heat was canceled, giving them an extra day to reset. And it showed. Chicago came out fresh and active, jumping out to a 10–3 lead right out of the gate.

— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) January 11, 2026With both the Bears and the Blackhawks also in action tonight, this game needed to bring some early drama, and it started instantly. Jason Kidd, the head coach of the Dallas Mavericks, was ejected in under ten minutes after he couldn’t get his coach’s challenge in before Scott Foster shut the door on the play, sending Kidd straight to the locker room.

— NBA on ESPN (@ESPNNBA) January 11, 2026The Bulls had the momentum, and it was contagious, from the starters all the way through the bench. Jalen Smith, back after recovering from a concussion, looked like he hadn’t missed a step. Ayo Dosunmu continued his impressive run of form, playing with confidence and control on both ends of the floor.
By the end of the first quarter, the Bulls were up ten, already carving out a serious edge in points in the paint (18-6), fast-break points (12-0), bench production (18-10), and second-chance opportunities (7-2).
Who are these guys? I don’t even recognize them, but I absolutely love it.

— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) January 11, 2026I do have to say one thing: out of everything Vucevic does well, his play from the top of the key can, at times, completely render opposing bigs useless. The offense kept flowing, Chicago kept running the floor, and the fast-break points kept piling up. They were showing real effort on the glass and getting rewarded for it.
This is how they should be playing, and against this Mavs team, they were doing exactly that. They also had clamps on Cooper Flagg. Even though he was getting his shots from inside the paint, almost every look was heavily contested, which is exactly why he opened the night going just 2-for-7 from the field.
This is usually how the story goes though, and why I don’t love it when the Bulls start off hot. They tend to get a little lax and take their foot off the gas. The Mavs rattled off a 9–0 run, and just like that, everything the Bulls had done right suddenly felt like it meant nothing. It took a personal Coby White 5-0 run to balance it out.

— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) January 11, 2026Chicago almost let it slip, but they still went into halftime with a double-digit lead. If I told you that at 8 p.m. CT that, out of the three Chicago teams playing tonight, the Bulls would be in the most comfortable position to win, you’d have called me a madman.

Second Half: The Chicago Bulls are in control!
The one thing neither of these teams needed was another injury. Both the Bulls and the Mavs are already dealing with more than enough of them. So when Okoro and Gafford got tangled up fighting for that dangerous rebound, the United Center went dead quiet. Thankfully, they both walked away unharmed.
What did get hurt, however, was Chicago’s lead and momentum. Their turnovers kept the door open for Dallas. Coby White kept the scoring alive, pouring in eight of his 17 points in the third quarter. Ayo was also exceptional, stuffing the stat sheet, beating the buzzer, and helping the Bulls win another quarter.

— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) January 11, 2026It took until the fourth quarter for the Mavs to get their first fast-break points. Considering they’re a top-five team in that category, the Bulls did an insane job of taking away one of their biggest strengths. Chicago kept the pace up and stretched the lead all the way out to 27.
Buzelis and Flagg have had some competitive one-on-one battles outside the NBA, but it’s safe to say Matas won the matchup tonight. He shut Flagg down and kept his 15-plus-point streak alive. The game got so out of hand that the CHSN+ broadcast even had time to revisit the Mavericks’ Luka Dončić trade from almost a year ago, which is still crazy, by the way.
The Bulls coasted to a 125-107 win and even picked up the Chicago-style hot-dog multiplier when the Mavs missed two free throws on the way out.

Ayo finished with a stat line of 20 points, eight assists, four rebounds, and four steals on 78% from the field and 75% from behind the arc.
Numbers to Remember
Chicago’s dominant win showed up all over the stat sheet. They beat Dallas in points in the paint (68–44), fast-break points (38–8), and second-chance points (12–6), even while losing the turnover battle. With the win, the Bulls improved to 18–20, just two games under .500.BULLS WIN.BULLS WIN.BULLS WIN.BULLS WIN.BULLS WIN.BULLS WIN. pic.twitter.com/dOcpLXP9hK

— Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) January 11, 2026 Chicago won by 18, their largest margin of victory this season. They were up by as many as 27, which is also the biggest lead they’ve held in any game this year. This win also featured seven Bulls finishing in double figures. It was the 11th time this season Chicago has had at least seven players score double-digit points, and they’re now 8–3 in those games.Bulls get more whole (Kevin Huerter, Jalen Smith back) and follow familiar script (7 in doubles, 30 or more assists) in blowout win over Mavericks. Coby White 22 pts on 9-15 FGs and Ayo Dosunmu continues stellar contract year with 20 pts, 8 assists and 4 steals
— K.C. Johnson (@KCJHoop) January 11, 2026 Nikola Vučević added another double-double, his 16th of the season and the 575th of his career. The Mavericks came in averaging the fourth-most fast-break points in the NBA at 18 per game. Tonight, they had just eight — and all of them came in the fourth quarter during garbage time. Cooper Flagg had a rough night, finishing with 11 points, two assists, one block, and one steal. He also tied his season worst in rebounds and turnovers, with one and five, respectively.Full Box Score
