ROCHESTER, N.Y. — The Rochester Police Department responded to Dewey Avenue near Benwell Road on Saturday night, involving a man on an electric bike being hit by a pickup truck, who drove away from the injured e-biker before police arrived, reports say.
Officials say the male e-biker, a 41-year-old city resident, received upper and lower body injuries from the hit-and-run with the truck, with non-life-threatening injuries.
The truck was going east on Benwell Road and then made a right turn to go south on Dewey Avenue when the crash happened, police say.
The e-biker was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.
RPD said the investigation is ongoing to find the truck and driver.
