Former Arizona State running back Raleek Brown has committed to join the Texas Longhorns after pivoting from departing for the NFL Draft to entering the transfer portal, reports ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
The All-Big 12 First Team back piled up 1,141 rushing yards with an average of 6.1 yards per carry in 2025. Added weight helped him take a step forward to become ASU’s bellcow, and he ended up helping the Sun Devil offense find balance after the program lost running back Cam Skattebo to the pros after the 2024 season.
Brown added 34 catches for 238 receiving yards this past year.

The running back’s first year at ASU was mostly derailed due to injury. He took nine carries for 42 yards in 2023 after transferring from the USC Trojans but was ultimately shut down to rehab a hamstring injury.
A four-star prospect out of Mater Dei High School in California, he played sparingly as a true freshman at USC in 2022, rushing 42 times for 227 yards. He was briefly converted to wide receiver during his second season before he transferred to Arizona State, with Kenny Dillingham returning him to the running back position.
Looking toward his time at Texas, Brown has an opening to play with three-year Longhorn back Quintrevion Wisner transferring to Florida State. Wisner rushed for 597 yards as the primary back, with a handful of others contributing behind him.
Texas quarterback Arch Manning was second on the team in rushing with 399 yards, while running backs Christian Clark (236 yards), CJ Baxter (196 yards), Jerrick Gibson (152 yards) and James Simon (122 yards) received limited touches.
