2025-26 is Young’s third season in the league and was by far his best as a pro. He set career highs in passing yards (3,011), passing touchdowns (23) and passer rating (87.8).
His play in the clutch has been especially valuable this year and is a trait that could be critical in the postseason. Young has led four fourth quarter comebacks and six game-winning drives this season.
“Young’s calm in the face of pressure has been a welcome sight for a team that has been weighed down for years by poor QB play,” NFL writer Eric Edholm said.
Young and his squad will take on a familiar foe in the first round in the Los Angeles Rams, a team Carolina beat at home 31-28 back in November. Despite the previous victory, the Panthers are huge underdogs in the rematch as the Rams are a 10.5-point favorite according to Fanduel.
“We know what we’re capable of,” Young said. “We’re not looking at anything external.”
