Hauss Hajny played in Oklahoma State's season opener last fall before getting hurt.

Colorado State filled one its most obvious needs Monday, as former four-star quarterback Hauss Hejny announced his commitment to the Rams on social media.

Hejny is transferring from Oklahoma State, where he played in the Cowboys’ first game of the season last fall before missing the rest of the season due to injury. Prior to playing for Oklahoma State, he spent a season at TCU.

In his one quarter of action in the Cowboys’ season opener against UT Martin, Hejny completed 5 of 10 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 27 yards and another TD. He broke his foot shortly after and didn’t play again for Oklahoma State.

At TCU in 2024, he played in four games, running the ball 15 times for 65 yards.

Prior to college, Hejny played at Aledo High School in Texas, the same school as former CSU quarterback Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi. The two were teammates in 2021 when Fowler-Nicolosi was a senior and Hejny a sophomore.

That season, Hejny caught 26 passes for 648 yards and seven touchdowns. When Fowler-Nicolosi left for CSU, Hejny became the starting quarterback and in his senior season in 2023, he completed 66% of his passes for 2,773 yards with 27 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also ran for 1,041 yards and 13 touchdowns that season.

Aledo went a combined 30-2 in his two seasons as the starting quarterback. The Bearcats won back-to-back Texas 5A Division I state championships. He was a perfect 16-0 as a senior.

In his high school career, he completed 279 of 440 passes for 5,021 yards with 50 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. He rushed for 2,462 yards on 270 carries and scored 29 touchdowns. He also caught 26 passes for 648 yards and seven touchdowns.

Coming out of Aledo, he was rated a four-star recruit by 247Sports and was the nation’s No. 12 quarterback recruit and the No. 30 player in Texas.

The quarterback position was one of the immediate needs for the Rams after former starters Fowler-Nicolosi and Jackson Brousseau both left the team via the transfer portal.

CSU still has several other needs to address as 35 players from last season’s team have entered the transfer portal or announced their intention to. Several have already found new homes according to 247Sports and On3.com. Running back Jalen Dupree has committed to Kanas, offensive lineman Christian Martin has committed to Illinois, tight end Jaxxon Warren has committed to North Carolina, and tight end Rocky Beers has committed to Oklahoma.
