ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A judge denied a request to lower the bail for Aneka Connor, who is accused of causing her son’s death.

Police said Connor and her 16-year-old son, Ca’hry Gibson, were arguing last October on Breck Street when Ca’hry jumped on her car. Connor then hit the gas, causing Ca’hry to fall off the car. He was seriously hurt and his father took him off life support a month later.

“He’s a good kid doesn’t deserve this, his mother is the one that’s gotta pay,” said Ca’hry’s father, Christopher Gibson.

News10NBC’s Tom Kowalski spoke with Christopher the day Connor’s arrest was announced. He told Kowalski he is committed to seeking justice for his son.

“She got to face the music for what she did to my son. And that’s the bottom line,” said Christopher.

Connor was charged with manslaughter, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child. She is currently held on a $35,000 bail.

The judge denied her request to lower the bail and also denied her request to be released with an ankle monitor. Connor is set to appear in court again in March.
