Aleppo, Jan. 6 (SANA) Authorities in Aleppo suspended classes and government operations for Wednesday after shelling by SDF organization struck residential neighborhoods, officials said.

Aleppo Governor Azzam al-Gharib said the move came after what he described as indiscriminate artillery fire that damaged hospitals and public institutions. Medical, emergency and service workers were exempt from the suspension, he said, to ensure basic services continued.

Officials said they were monitoring the situation and urged residents to take precautions, noting that while the decision disrupts the school year, safety remains the priority.

Earlier Tuesday, one soldier was killed and others wounded in a drone attack near Sheikh Maqsoud, while three civilians, including two women, were killed in shelling of nearby neighborhoods.
