The Phoenix Suns already dealt with plane issues when getting to Houston, and as their Monday night matchup against the Rockets progressed, the clock and scoreboard refused to cooperate.
Toyota Center experienced a few sporadic technical difficulties in the first quarter before everything went cold to begin the second quarter. While the scoreboard wasn’t showing any signs of life, the arena’s public announcer had to announce the game score and shot clock.
On the TV broadcast, the PA could audibly be heard counting down from five seconds.

In addition, the buzzers were also disconnected, forcing the scorer’s table to use an airhorn as a different signal for a substitution.
The Suns held a 29-25 lead over the Rockets after the first, and it took 12 minutes until things were situated well enough for play to commence in the second.
Despite the contest entering the closing minutes of the opening half, the scoreboard still read “29-25.”
The score and game clock, but not the shot clock, returned with about two minutes remaining in the second quarter.

Phoenix held a 60-54 halftime lead over Houston. Devin Booker, Collin Gillespie and Jordan Goodwin each had 11 points and Royce O’Neale added three 3s.
Grayson Allen made his return from a right knee injury for the Suns after missing nine games, and Mark Williams started his second back-to-back of the season.
Allen didn’t score in his 10 first-half minutes (0 for 2) but had six assists and Williams had two points (1 for 4 shooting) and seven rebounds.
