Monster Energy Strawberry Shot made its debut at this past season's NACs expo, according to a recent Sporked article, an annual event bringing some of the biggest snack and beverage brands to preview upcoming releases.
The new flavor starts with the original Monster Energy base and adds a sweet strawberry twist. It "packs a powerful punch but has a smooth easy drinking flavor," per a retailer description. It contains 160 milligrams of caffeine per can, which is in line with other Monster products (outside of its Killer Brew series, of course).
And should you prefer your energy drinks without any added sugar, you're in luck, as Monster Strawberry Shot is also reported to hit shelves as part of the company's Zero Sugar line. That said, reviewers seemed to prefer the full-sugar flavor and suggested the sugar-free version tasted artificially sweetened.

Sporked initially reported early January as the timeline for its debut, and now there's word that January 5 will be the launch date.
