Tuolumne County, CA – As a winter storm system moves across the Mother Lode, the Tuolumne County Public Works Department (TCPW) wants to remind residents and visitors of the county’s Snow Removal Policy and sand locations.
Public works officials relayed that it is illegal to park vehicles or store materials in the road right-of-way, which includes the shoulder. They added, “The County is not responsible for damages caused by snow removal operations to vehicles or personal items left in the road right-of-way.”
Additionally, vehicles left in the right-of-way will cause delays in snow removal, as they prevent plowing. Public works authorities also stated that snow berms produced during plowing will not be removed by road crews. Click here to view the entire policy.
As heavy rain is sweeping across the region, sand continues to be available. Bags are not provided, but they can be bought at local hardware stores. A shovel will also be needed, as they are not supplied at the four sand locations listed below:
• Columbia – Airport parking lot, 10723 Airport Road
• Tuolumne – 18870 Birch Street and the corner of Parkview Lane and Chestnut Ave.
• Jamestown — On the corner of 7th Avenue and 8th Street
• Big Oak/Groveland, 11242 Wards Ferry Road
