BUFFALO, N.Y. — The Buffalo Sabres are looking to extend their 7-game win streak as they take on the Boston Bruins Saturday night.
The Sabres have not lost a game since Dec. 8, maintaining more than two weeks of dominance. They are now just two points away from a playoff spot.
The Sabres extended their winning streak Tuesday by defeating the Ottawa Senators in overtime 3-2, making this the team’s first win streak in seven years.
Every game in this streak has been decided by two goals or fewer, showcasing the Sabres’ determination. After the game Tuesday, Sabres Coach Lindy Ruff said the team is starting to believe in themselves as a group, which is evident in their consistent play.
“We’ve talked a lot about just playing good consistent hockey, and the game tonight (Tuesday) really felt like, it’s good training, but it really felt like a playoff game,” Ruff said. “Real tight game, both teams were trying to play tight defensively, both teams broke through a couple of times.”
The Sabres game against the Bruins starts at 7 p.m. Saturday at KeyBank Center. Buffalo will be wearing their specialty black and red jerseys during the game.
