FARMINGTON, N.Y. — A 30-year-old man is facing charges after Ontario County sheriff’s deputies say he hurt a five-month-old kitten.
Deputies say on Christmas Day just before 6 p.m. they responded to a reported domestic incident on Loomis Road in the Town of Farmington.
While responding to the report, deputies say they found the five-month-old kitten, “Smokey,” with a swollen right hind leg. Deputies say Keaghn Picaro had hit the kitten, as he would not use its litter box.
The Ontario County Humane Society seized Smokey, and examined he had a fracture on his right hind leg.
Deputies say Picaro is awaiting arraignment on various other charges at the Ontario County Jail, and was additionally charged with aggravated cruelty to an animal.
Smokey remains at the humane society where he is getting treatment for his injuries, deputies say.
