2025 LITHUANIAN OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS
December 19-21, 2025 Vilnius, Lithuania SCM (25 meters) ResultsFour different swimmers and four relays set new Lithuanian Records at the 2025 Lithuanian Open Championships over the weekend in Vilnius, and there were also a series of new national age records at the year-end short course meet.
The only swimmer to set multiple national records individually at the meet was Andrius Sidlauskas, who established new marks in both the men’s 50 and 100 breaststroke.
Sidlauskas, 28, clocked 26.06 in the 50 breast to improve on his previous record of 26.22, set at the Kazan stop of the 2021 World Cup. He had narrowly missed his previous PB at the European SC Championships in early December, clocking 26.30 to finish 11th overall.
In the 100 breast, he put up a time of 56.81 to break the decade-old Lithuanian Record of 57.02, set by Giedrius Titenis back in 2015. Sidlauskas’ previous best time stood at 57.52, also set in 2021 in Kazan.
In the men’s 100 back, Mantas Kauspedas broke an 11-year-old national record, producing a time of 50.81 to erase Danas Rapsys‘ previous mark of 50.95 set in 2014.
Kauspedas crushed his previous best of 51.34, set in December 2024, and moved into 10th all-time among 18 & under Europeans with the performance.
The 18-year-old also won the 50 back in a time of 22.97, narrowly missing his national record of 22.91 set last year.
On the women’s side, reigning World Junior champion breaststroker Smilte Plytnykaite set a new national record in the women’s 50 fly twice, first clocking 26.53 in the prelims to break Ruta Meilutyte‘s 12-year-old record of 26.62 set in 2013. In the final, Plytnykaite got down to 26.28 to reset her hours-old record. Her best time coming into the meet sat at 26.74, set last year.
Plytnykaite also won the 100 free (54.35) and 100 breast (1:06.00), setting a new best time in the former, and added a runner-up finish in the 50 free (25.02) behind Patricija Kondraškaite (24.93).
The other individual national record fell at the hands of Guoda Trucinskaite, as the 17-year-old put up a time of 4:44.38 in the women’s 400 IM to break her year-old record of 4:45.59 set last December.
Trucinskaite also won the women’s 100 fly (1:01.12), 100 IM (1:02.14) and 200 IM (2:12.72), with the latter marking a new best time and ranking her #2 all-time in Lithuania behind Meilutyte (2:09.55).
