David Adam Williams, a popular theme parks and travel YouTuber known as Adam the Woo, was found dead Monday afternoon, Dec. 22. in his home in Celebration, Fla., deputies said.
Osceola Sheriff’s deputies found Williams, 51, in his upstairs bedroom after a concerned neighbor climbed a ladder to see Williams motionless on his bed, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said.
The cause of death is still unknown as of Tuesday morning pending an autopsy .
Williams gained a sizable following on YouTube, where he uploaded videos of himself exploring abandoned filming sites from popular movies and TV shows. He later pivoted to daily vlog content on a channel called “The Daily Woo” where he documented his travels across the United States living out of a van to an audience of more than 740,000 subscribers.
In 2023, Williams purchased a home in Celebration, saying in a video, “What a ride it’s been since I started making videos in my van. … I always wanted to buy a house by the time I was 50 and happy to say I accomplished my goal. Pretty thankful.”
He would often post videos of himself exploring the neighborhood, including one in October entitled, “I Live in a Halloween Town.”
Williams uploaded his final video to YouTube on Sunday, in which he drove a golf cart with a man dressed as the Grinch through Celebration’s downtown Christmas decorations. Viewers took to the video’s comment section to pay tribute to Williams.
“It never felt like you were watching him. It always felt like you were there with him. We will forever be grateful for the journeys you took us on, Adam,” one viewer wrote.
Friends of Williams also took to social media to post their condolences. Justin Scarred, a theme parks Youtuber who made content with Williams, wrote in a Facebook post late Monday that the news broke his heart.
“The world has lost a giant, and I have lost a friend closer to me than blood. We lost Adam. I loved this man with my whole heart and I don’t know what to do or what to say,” he wrote.
Peter Sciretta, another theme parks content creator, wrote on X that he was “devastated.”
“Adam The Woo was a trailblazer, he did his own thing, his way, always. He was a creature of consistency who chased adventure and chaos on a daily basis. He deeply loved what he did so much that he couldn’t stop, even if he wanted to,” Sciretta wrote.
