Female Serial Killer Rebecca Auborn Admits to Overdosing 4 Men in Ohio ...Middle East

News by : (Us magazine) -

A female serial killer has admitted in open court to killing four men by intentionally causing them to overdose on fentanyl, Us Weekly has learned.

Rebecca Auborn, 36, was indicted in October 2023 for the intentional and ultimately fatal overdoses of four men as well as the attempted overdose of a fifth man.

Initially, Auborn was facing 28 total charges, including four counts each of murder, involuntary manslaughter, and trafficking in drugs, and five counts each of aggravated robbery, felonious assault, and corrupting another with drugs. She was also charged with prostitution offenses.

However, prosecutors ended up offering Auborn a plea deal, agreeing to drop 23 of the criminal charges if she accepted. She pleaded guilty to four counts of murder and one count of felonious assault.

Auborn, according to a statement from Ohio Attorney General Dave Yost, first tried using fentanyl to cause a man’s overdose death on December 13, 2022, but failed. Little more than a month later, on January 15, 2023, Auborn succeeded in killing 30-year-old Joseph Crumpler.

Then, months later, on April 1, 2023, Robert Snoke, 54, fatally overdosed on fentanyl, and Auborn stole his car and credit cards. While 64-year-old Wayne Akin was declared dead on April 17, he died from a fentanyl overdose on April 13, 2023. On June 17, 2023, Guy Renda, Jr., 42, became Auborn’s fourth and final victim.

Authorities allege Auborn stole $2,000 worth of tools from one of the victims.

Auborn entered the guilty pleas on Friday, December 19, and will be sentenced on February 20, 2026, at 9:00 a.m.

The Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force, established under Yost’s Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission, first received information about a woman meeting up with men for sex throughout northeast Columbus, and then dosing them, all so she could walk off with their personal belongings.

The Central Ohio Human Trafficking Task Force’s investigation of Auborn included any reported overdoses that happened between December 2022 and August 2023 in the area around Interstate 71, State Route 161, Cleveland Avenue, and East 17th Avenue in north Columbus.

The pleas, according to Yost, “closes a tough case. An overwhelming amount of convincing evidence and an airtight investigation conducted by BCI and Columbus Police left no doubt that a conviction was forthcoming. When law enforcement works together, there’s hope for families to secure justice.”

Auborn was ruled competent to stand trial back in February, after the court observed her demeanor during proceedings. A written evaluation also permitted the case to move forward.

Relatives of Akin have spoken to NBC News and said it is unclear whether he was actually a customer of Auborn’s. Akin’s daughter, Christyn Akin-Crockett, has been critical of local police, claiming an initial lack of interest in pursuing leads confirming the man’s death was suspicious.

Akin-Crockett told NBC News she heard from a tipster that a woman named “becka” had killed four people, including Akin, in April 2023. She said she tried providing that information to the Columbus Division of Police but was dismissed and told to patient for toxicology test results.

By definition, a serial killer is any person who kills three or more people on purpose over time in separate incidents.
