Shout out to everyone who came through for the Ivy Hall BN Bears watch party event at Lottie’s. I don’t have much of a voice this morning. Good thing I don’t have to use it right now.
It wasn’t a dream. Caleb Williams made that throw. DJ Moore made that catch. The Iceman came, saw, and conquered in overtime. It was ridiculous. The Chicago Bears won a game that they trailed by a 16-3 score late in the fourth quarter. What a bonkers game. It perfectly captures what life as a Bears fan has been like this season.BEARS BEAT THE PACKERS: Instant Grades | The Nightcap | Good, Better, Best
Because I know you care: The Athletic’s playoff simulator has the Bears with a 97 percent chance to make the playoffs. They’ve got a 12 percent shot at making the No. 1 seed and a probability of 72 percent to host a wild-card round matchup. I love that the Bears are this deep in the season and in control of their own destiny. There are plenty of teams that have angles and paths to playoff spots right now, but so many of them need wonky scenarios to play out. The Bears are usually among those teams. They are not this year. — Ian Rapoport (@rapsheet.bsky.social) December 21, 2025 at 10:47 AM As far as I’m concerned, the story of Saturday night’s Bears win was one of redemption. It was everywhere you looked. You can start with DJ Moore. We all remember the look of disgust he wore on his face after Chicago lost in Green Bay in Week 14. You could tell how much it hurt to lose that game. So what does he do two weeks later? He burns Keisean Nixon (who had the game-sealing interception in Week 14) one-on-one and catches an absolute dime from quarterback Caleb Williams to secure the victory. How it started:D.J. Moore got hit by Keisean Nixon while running a route over the middle and went down in pain. No flag was thrown. Do you think it was a dirty hit from Nixon? ? pic.twitter.com/pGjQhxxGGB

— NFL Daily News (@fantasynflnews.bsky.social) December 21, 2025 at 5:39 AM Redemption story No. 2: Let’s hear it for Cairo Santos? It hasn’t been an easy year to be the Bears kicker. But in the biggest game of the year, Santos delivered. He made all three of his field goals (including a 51-yarder) and the game-tying extra-point that sent the game into overtime. It has been quite the in-season turnaround for Santos, who had made just 78.6 percent of his kicks in his first six games. Since then, Santos has made 13 of 15 kicks. That comes out to an 86.7 percent field goal success rate in his last seven games, which is more like the player we know he can be. The whole special teams unit had a redemption arc storyline last night. Let’s not forget about Josh Blackwell (who won NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors after snagging the game-winning field goal block against the Raiders) recovering the onside kick. I’m not sure how he pulled it off, but I’m sure glad he did.PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO THE BN BEARS PODCAST: Apple | Spotify | YouTube
If you were wondering how Caleb Williams would respond to that soul-crushing interception, you got your answer last night:Caleb Williams' game-winning 46-yard TD pass to DJ Moore traveled 56.9 yards in the air, Williams' 3rd-longest completion of his career.Moore had only 0.6 yards of separation from Keisean Nixon when the pass arrived.#GBvsCHI | #DaBearspic.twitter.com/QjBBSz2rDc
— Next Gen Stats (@NextGenStats) December 21, 2025 Caleb Williams said after the Week 14 loss that he makes those winning throws 9 out of 10 times. I love seeing a player back up his words with actions. Jahdae Walker can dine for free in Chicago today if he plays his cards right. That isn’t a sentence I would’ve thought about typing out at this time last week. Heck, I don’t think it is something I would’ve written at all coming into this season. Walker has gone from being an undrafted free-agent addition to making the biggest catch of his life in the span of eight months. The guy has been a healthy scratch for most of the year because he has been the last receiver on the depth chart. But his fourth quarter touchdown catch speaks to the importance of depth and development. What a moment for the rookie. Bears right tackle Darnell Wright on Jahdae Walker (via ESPN): “[Jahdae] is so funny. He’s one of the funniest guys. Just like every day at practice, he’s like a kid almost. He’s just so happy to be out there. He’s just always with a smile. So he gives a lot of energy to everybody, and a big play by him tonight as well.” The improbability of victory:This is what snatching victory from the jaws of defeat looks like: pic.twitter.com/dq4pnAHUGY
— Bleacher Nation Bears (@BN_Bears) December 21, 2025 Via the NFL: The Bears’ win probability was as low as 0.5% before recovering an onside kick coming out of the two-minute warning (trailing 16-9 w/2 timeouts). This is the 5th-most improbable win in the Next Gen Stats era (since 2016). I think the moment even stunned bears radio voice Jeff Joniak:This is what it sounded like on the radio last night. www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8yBD4ov/[image or embed]
