Giuliana Rancic is using her platform to raise awareness about animal abuse in the United States.
“A small roundtable of animal advocates and cabinet members met in Washington, DC yesterday to launch a working group dedicated to making this country a safer place for our dogs,” Rancic, 51, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, December 18. “We gathered at the Department of Justice, because justice is exactly what our dogs need now more than ever.”
Alongside Lara Trump, Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and other political leaders, Rancic explained her mission to protect animals across the country.
“We can no longer stand by and watch the horrific abuse many dogs endure. From criminal dog fighting, to illegal breeding at puppy mills, cruel laboratory tests, abuse on our city streets and a broken shelter system that euthanizes adoptable dogs in record numbers, the system is failing them,” she wrote. “It’s time for real change. And sometimes to create change, you have to go to the top.”

Rancic continued, “Decades of a broken system won’t be fixed in a single day, but it only takes one day to form an alliance, make a commitment and begin the focused work — supported by a strategic administration-wide approach — to ensure our beloved pets receive the action they deserve.”
Fans met Rancic when she was an entertainment host for E! News. In May 2021, she announced she would no longer be hosting E!’s live red carpet award show coverage and stepping away from the network to pursue other projects, including her popular home and fashion lines at HSN.
Soon after sharing her latest mission, Rancic received support from many of her followers.

Earlier this year, Giuliana made headlines when she teamed up with Wings of Rescue, a nonprofit dedicated to providing free flights to rescue pets, and arranged for 109 dogs stuck in overcrowded California shelters to be flown to other rescues that have a demand for adoptable pets.
“Overcrowded shelters are euthanizing healthy, adoptable dogs in many cases simply for ‘space,’ which is truly heartbreaking,” Giuliana told People at the time. “While shooting a segment at PAWS Chicago to highlight the work of rescue organizations, I started fostering, and eventually adopted, my first rescue dog, FiFi. The more I learned about the shelter crisis, the more personal it became.”

Although 2025 may be coming to an end, Giuliana is excited about the team she is surrounding herself with. She’s hopeful that positive change can come for animals in the months to come.
“Thank you for including me @laraleatrump,” she wrote via Instagram. “And @blairbrandt, for hosting us all @agpambondi and for your important contributions @secrollins @robertfkennedyjr & @lauree.simmons of @bigdogranchrescue.”
In a separate social media post, Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins added, “Protecting animals means showing up, and today we’re doing just that!”
