The comedian spoke about the new couple while onstage at Turning Point USA's AmericaFest Conference in Phoenix, Ariz. on Thursday, Dec. 18.
Perry and Brand were married from 2010 until 2012. At the time, the pop star claimed Brand broke up with her via text message on New Year's Eve 2011.
Brand also made headlines in May when he appeared in court to plead not guilty after being accused of sexual assault by four different women. At the court hearing, it was determined that the trial would likely start in June 2026, with Brand remaining on conditional bail in the meantime.
Brand's comments come nearly two weeks after Perry and the former Canadian prime minister made their relationship Instagram official after taking a trip to Japan together.
The romance comes on the heels of Perry’s breakup with actor Orlando Bloom. In early July, reps for the pair confirmed the split after weeks of speculation from fans. The couple share daughter Daisy Dove, whom they welcomed in August 2020.
