ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A second body was found buried in the remains of a Rochester church destroyed by fire, and News10NBC has learned that one of the victims actually survived a deadly arson three years ago.

The first body found was that of 39-year-old Leticia Hollins. She had previously survived a deadly arson three years ago.
“This is so heartbreaking to know that she would actually perish in a fire after surviving the first fire,” said Van Stanley of People’s Choice Kitchen.
Police say Hollins was likely living in the empty church when it caught fire on Dec. 7. Her body was found on Dec. 11.
News10NBC Investigative Reporter Berkeley Brean shared the news with Stanley, who had helped Hollins after the previous fire.
“I couldn’t believe it. She’s been through so much. And for her to survive the fire over on Hancock and now to perish in this fire in this church, it breaks my heart,” Stanley said.
Three years ago, Hollins survived a fire on Hancock Street that was intentionally set. Rochester police had arrested someone for that arson.
Stanley had stepped in to help Hollins and her partner, providing them with a safe place to stay.
“I said this, of course, won’t replace your son, but at least you’ll have an urn with some remains from that fire,” Stanley said.
Berkeley Brean: “People have different lives and some lives are very difficult. But to think a human life ends like that, in the rubble of a fire.”
Stanley: “Yeah, it’s heartbreaking. I can’t even process this right now because I can’t believe it’s her,”
Police believe this is a terrible coincidence. The fire department is investigating the cause of the recent fire.
