The second installment of the Chicago Bears injury report ahead of the team’s Satruday game against the Green Bay Packers is out. Unfortunately, it also added a new name to keep tabs on in the coming days. And that isn’t ideal when you consider that game day is just three sleeps away.
D’Andre Swift was listed as a limited participant on Wednesday’s Bears injury report. A groin issue kept Swift from being a full participant. Swift has been off and on the injury report throughout the year, but he has missed only one game. However, Swift joining the injury report just one day after not being on it at all raises some yellow flags. My gut tells me this is a troubling development. Hopefully, this is a short term issue. Whatever it is, we will monitor the news closely for updates.

Wide receivers Luther Burden III (ankle) and Rome Odunze (foot) remain out of action. A third consecutive DNP would likely put both out of action for Saturday’s game against the Packers. This would be troubling. Plus, it would put a serious dent in Chicago’s chances to take down Green Bay. We’ll see what happens with Thursday’s Bears injury report.WHAT’S HAPPENING AROUND THE NFL?
Linebacker Tremaine Edmunds was listed as limited with a groin injury. This is the second consecutive day Edmunds has received this designation. There seems to be some optimism that Edmunds can play in his first game back from injured reserve on Saturday. And while I wouldn’t bet against him doing so, I’d feel better about those odds if he put together a full participation practice on Thursday.EPISODE XIII OF THE BN BEARS PODCAST IS HERE: Apple | Spotify | YouTube
There are two notable upgrades on the Bears injury report. Defensive lineman Andrew Billings (illness) and running back Travis Homer (ankle) were both moved to full participation. Billings did not practice on Tuesday due to an illness. Meanwhile, Homer went from limited participation on Tuesday to a being a full-go on Wednesday.Hopefully, we have some good news to share when we post our final Bears injury report story of the week on Thursday.
