ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester man is facing charges after the Lollypop Farm Humane Law Enforcement says he killed by a cat by throwing it into a garbage chute.
Officials from Lollypop Farm say on May 7, security cameras at Andrews Terrace apartment on St. Paul Street caught Larry Neal putting a bag into a garbage chute.
Around the same time, an employee working near the garbage chute heard a loud noise. Officials say the employee went to check it out and found a small cat inside the bag.
Humane investigators responded after a call was made to the Lollypop Farm Cruelty Hotline, and found the cat dead as a result of its injuries.
After talking with security at the apartment building, humane investigators identified Neal as the man on camera, who they say was a known visitor at the complex.
While trying to find Neal, humane investigators say they learned Neal was a registered sex offender. They say they were able to make contact by phone before they found Neal at his home in November.
Neal was arrested and charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
