Doha, Dec. 17 (SANA) Syria’s Minister of Public Works and Housing, Mustafa Abdul Razzaq, met with officials from the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) in Doha to discuss strengthening collaboration. The talks took place on the sidelines of the 42nd session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction.

Abdul Razzaq and Rania Hedeya, Acting Regional Director of UN-Habitat for Arab States, reviewed strategies to accelerate urban planning and housing development in Syria. They also explored ways to enhance UN-Habitat’s technical support in line with Syria’s current priorities.

Hedeya expressed UN-Habitat’s commitment to exploring tailored financing solutions for Syria, emphasizing the need for field visits by program teams to assess challenges on the ground and design more effective, context-specific interventions.
