BRIGHTON, N.Y. — The Vince Guaraldi Project played “A Charlie Brown Christmas” music tribute at Bop Shop Records on Sunday, their first time performing since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The local band, led by guitarist John Viviani, performed iconic jazz tunes from “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and other favorites at the event, meant for all ages.
Vince Guaraldi was a composer, known for music including “Linus & Lucy” and its iconic piano riff, the delicate waltz of “Skating,” and “Christmastime is Here.”
“This music holds a special place in the hearts of so many people, and you can feel that when you’re on stage,” Viviani said.
The concert will be posted to the Bop Shop YouTube channel before Christmas and will be rebroadcast on Jazz90.1 WGMC-FM during “Bop Shop Live!” Tuesday, December 23 at 8 p.m.
