ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Breezy and cold weather continues Monday with some lake flakes to start the day near Rt. 104. Amounts will be light with most getting a dusting to an inch but a few inches possible in parts of Wayne County. Morning lake flakes off Ontario will drift north as the wind increases from the west-southwest into the afternoon. That wind direction will develop some snow off Lake Erie that will bring a couple inches to areas west of Rochester into this evening. Some flakes will brush the Rochester metro at times with light amounts later in the day. Lake flakes will diminish tonight.
Tuesday and Wednesday will bring quiet and mainly dry weather. Temperatures will begin to moderate a bit into the 30s to near 40 by midweek. The next significant storm system will arrive later Thursday into Friday. A surge of warmer weather will arrive with some strong winds into Thursday night as temps may head towards 50 degrees. Some rain will also be likely at night. Behind the front temps will drop rapidly on Friday as rain ends as snow with local lake effect through the day with some accumulations likely.
