Maxine Clark from Calgary, Canada has announced her commitment to continue her academic and athletic careers at USC beginning in fall 2026.
“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Southern California! Thank you to my teammates and coaches Carl, Dave, Nick, and Haylie for their unwavering support. Thank you also to Coach Lea and Coach Meghan for giving me this amazing opportunity. So excited to be a Trojan! FIGHT ON”
Clark swims for the University of Calgary Swim Club and notably raced at the Toronto World Cup stop at the end of October. There she was highlighted by 10th in the 200 fly (2:15.34), 14th in the 100 fly (59.74), and 17th in the 200 free (1:59.75).
At the end of the summer, Clark represented Canada at the 2025 World Junior Championships in Romania. She swam on the girls 4×200 free relay, posting a 2:02.01 relay split to help the team advance to finals. Clark earned her spot after finishing 4th in the junior 200 free at 2025 Canadian Trials when she swam a season best 2:02.81.
Clark’s Best LCM Times (With SCY Conversions) Are:
200 free: 2:01.51 (1:46.58) 400/500 free: 4:17.70 (4:48.73) 100 fly: 59.86 (52.66)The USC women finished 5th at the 2025 Big Ten Championships in their first season in the Big Ten and went on to finish 11th at 2025 NCAAs. Hungarian native Minna Abraham led the team at NCAAs with 31 points including a 2nd place finish in the 200 free. Abraham currently sits at #2 in the NCAA this season in the 200 free with a 1:40.47. Abraham will be a senior next fall so the two will overlap for one season.
Based on her best converted times, Clark’s best converted time in the 100 fly and 200 free would be on the border of the Big Ten ‘B’ and ‘C’ finals. Her best converted time in the 400/500 free is just off of the 4:46.00 that it took to make it back at the Big Tens.
Clark will arrive next fall in 2026 as a member of the class of 2030 along with Ludovica Di Maria, Brigitta Vass, Rylee Hutchinson, Ella Grace Thiele, and Hailey Weiler.
