After a long four-day wait, it’s time for the Bulls to hit the floor tonight in Charlotte for a matchup with the Hornets. Can an end finally be put to the losing skid?
Plus, a few trade rumors are starting to pop up surrounding the Bulls as their struggles continue.
Bulls Bullets
The Bulls are back in action in Charlotte, playing against a team that, on paper, is very beatable. However, we know Billy Donovan’s crew has struggled against some of the NBA’s worst as of late, and even he said that his team isn’t any different from the struggling squads they’ve lost to. Hopefully, the time off (at least from game action) has given everyone the opportunity to hit the reset button a little bit, and we see a rejuvenated group in action tonight. The injury report, while still consisting of quite a few names, does look a good bit better than when Chicago took the floor on Sunday night against the Warriors. While Ayo Dosunmu (thumb) and Kevin Huerter (thigh) are out, Coby White, Isaac Okoro, Zach Collins, Tre Jones, and Jalen Smith are all expected to play. Certainly, Dosunmu and Huerter will be missed, but this should be one of teh deeper rotations Billy Donovan has had available to him in weeks. While the Bulls return to the floor tonight, there was quite a bit of off-court news yesterday surrounding them, coming in the form of trade rumors. First, Joe Cowley of the Sun-Times reported that the Minnesota Timberwolves have targeted Coby White and are interested in kicking the tires now as opposed to waiting until closer to the trade deadline. Cowley specifically mentioned the package of Donte DiVincenzo, Terrence Shannon Jr., and a future draft pick. White is in the last year of a deal that pays him $12 million and will become an unrestricted free agent this Summer.Minnesota is big-game hunting for a point guard and the Bulls' Coby White is on their radar. It makes sense even for stubborn executive Arturas Karnisovas. The trade vultures are circling …Read it … t.co/q96o5dXZqz
— Joe Cowley (@JCowleyHoops) December 11, 2025 When Joe Cowley reports something, it’s usually worth taking pretty seriously. And the return package of an NBA-ready contributor and a young, talented player who might need a change of scenery sounds like something exactly like what Arturas Karnisovas would be interested in. As for the draft pick, Minnesota doesn’t have a tradable first-round pick until 2033, so that would be an incredibly underwhelming one, too. Donte DiVincenzo is a solid NBA player. He can shoot threes and help out defensively. Terrence Shannon Jr. is also a really intriguing young prospect who is just kind of blocked out in Minnesota right now. This return does absolutely nothing for the Bulls, though, in terms of rebuilding. If anything, this is a re-tool move to try and help them right now, and hope that Shannon Jr. continues to develop. A move like this would be so incredibly on-brand for Arturas Karnisovas, but it would yet again be an example of him using one of the more valuable trade assets in the league right now (contract combined with skill level) in Coby White and trading it for incredibly limited (or none at all) draft capital. Trading Coby White now for a rotation player and a 25-year-old project (granted, one with a high ceiling) would be such an underwhelming return, but one that, in the grand scheme of things, wouldn’t surprise anyone in Chicago. © Cary Edmondson – Imagn Images Speaking of trade rumors that make no sense but would be incredibly on brand, NBA Insider Marc Stein has the Bulls linked to Jonathan Kuminga! This isn’t the first time the Bulls have been linked to the talented Warriors’ former lottery pick. While Kuminga has shown flashes of high-end skill, he’s had trouble sticking in the Warriors’ rotation consistently, and his development has become a bit stagnant. Kuminga signed a two-year, $47 million contract earlier this summer. If Arturas Karnisovas is interested in taking a flier on him, fine. But if this is somehow part of a Coby White deal that doesn’t involve a whole bunch of first-round draft capital in return, it will be a total gut punch. Also, while we’re mentioning Marc Stein’s article from yesterday, he also mentioned that the Kings are looking to move both DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine. I mean, it can’t really surprise anyone in Chicago that their reunion hasn’t really worked.
