Health Officials Issue Heavy Metal Poisoning Warning ...Middle East

News by : (myMOTHERLODE) -

Sonora, CA — The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently issued a warning about heavy metal poisoning associated with certain unapproved ayurvedic drug products.

Tuolumne County Public Health is passing on this warning on the risks linked with Ayurvedic, a historic system of healing arts that originated in India. These items may contain spices, herbs, vitamins, proteins, and minerals, as well as heavy metals, including lead, mercury, arsenic, iron, and zinc, which are not labeled on the product.

The FDA warning was issued after one of its laboratories recently examined Rheumacare Ayurvedic Proprietary Medicine from NavaFresh.com. The tests revealed elevated amounts of lead and mercury, as well as strychnine, brucine toxins, and arsenic.

The agency advises consumers not to use Rheumacare. Customers who own this merchandise should trash it. The agency’s testing was based on an adverse event complaint from a consumer who took the product and had extraordinarily high blood lead levels.
