Federal Aviation Administration officials ordered a ground delay for DIA flights until 8 p.m. because of the wind, and departing flights are delayed by an average of 68 minutes.

Airlines reported 750 delayed flights as of 2:15 p.m., according to FlightAware. United Airlines had the most delays at 260, followed by Southwest with 233 delayed flights and SkyWest with 149.

Denver, along with most of the Front Range and parts of the Eastern Plains, is under a red flag warning today because of high winds and low humidity, with wind gusts up to 45 mph possible, according to the National Weather Service.
