While many restaurants use anniversaries to celebrate milestones, a noted Anaheim burrito joint is commemorating its follower count instead.
Los De Juárez Burritos — Omar De la Vega and Juan Del Rio’s Anaheim burrito spot known for its slender, juicy burritos — will give away 100 chile relleno burritos on Wednesday, Dec. 10 to mark its reaching 10,000 followers on Instagram.
“It’s the burrito that put us on the map,” said De La Vega. “We’re very thankful for the turnout and impact. Everything has been amazing for us since we opened, so this is a thank you.”

The co-owner said the idea come to him when the eatery’s Instagram page reached 92,000 followers. “We just told them that if we reached 100,000, we’d do a giveaway,” he said. The account was created a month before the brick-and-mortar location opened in early 2024.

Since opening in March 2024, Los De Juárez Burritos has distinguished itself with comparatively slender, Juárez-style burritos that measure a quarter the size of those found at many taquerias and restaurants. The housemade tortillas (enriched with lard and butter) encase a tight filling of guisado, a slip of beans and some cheese, all of which gets seared golden brown on a plancha. (The wonderful Burritos La Palma also makes svelte, Zacatecan-style burritos that are equally as tasty.)
