ROCHESTER, N.Y. – The Yellow Alert will be expiring after the evening commute. We’re done with the worst of the snow, and just left with some scattered, much lighter snow showers. Temperatures have dropped through the 20s and well below zero, so any untreated roads will remain slick. Take it a little slower through the commute.
Snow ends, but we’re left with the chill into Friday. A partially clearing sky, and lightening winds will allow temperatures to drop into the single digits away from Lake Ontario. Even a slight breeze on Friday morning will make it feel below zero through the morning hours. Aside from the cold, Friday will be a quiet day with a mix of clouds and sunshine, and highs in the mid 20s.
The weekend will feature temperatures in the 30s, and scattered snow showers both days. Sunday may see a minor accumulation of a coating to an inch or two with a cold front and weak area of low pressure passing through. If you have plans to go to the Bills game, it’ll be chilly, with temperatures in the 20s and some snow showers around.
The winter weather will be relentless, with off and on snow chances and temperatures remaining well below average through much of next week. We’re “green” on the Threat Tracker for now.
