Damascus, Dec. 3 (SANA) Representatives of the United Nations Security Council are set to arrive in Syria on Thursday in what will be the body’s first official visit to the country, coinciding with the first anniversary of Syria’s liberation and the fall of the deposed regime.During the visit, Security Council members are expected to hold meetings with Syrian officials, representatives of Syrian civil society, and committees responsible for fact-finding investigations into recent events in the coastal region and the province of Sweida. The delegation will also meet with Najat Rochdi, Deputy UN Special Envoy for Syria.A Syrian official source told SANA that the visit comes amid growing international recognition of Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and its ability to independently lead the process of national recovery.
