HONEOYE FALLS, N.Y. — Jamie Busch, accused of killing her sister last year, has been declared competent to stand trial.
Busch’s trial is set to begin on Feb. 3 in Monroe County Court. She is accused of strangling her 62-year-old sister, Penny Busch, at Penny’s home in Honeoye Falls before dumping her body in the Genesee River in Rush. Court paperwork claims she also took her sisters cell phones and dumped them in the garbage can outside the Dunkin Donuts in Honeoye Falls.
Penny Busch was last seen at her house on Oct. 6, 2024, and her body was found Oct. 14.
Jamie Busch, who was a paraprofessional at Honeoye Falls Middle School, faces charges of murder and tampering with evidence.
