In the middle of all the crazy news coming out of the college football world on Sunday, the NFL also saw history made on its gridiron by a former SEC gunslinger.
As noted by ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, former Georgia Bulldogs standout and current LA Rams signal caller Matthew Stafford tossed his 28th consecutive touchdown without throwing an interception on Sunday afternoon against the Carolina Panthers, which is an NFL record.

— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) November 30, 2025Now in his 17th NFL season, Stafford has continued to put up eye-popping stats, entering Sunday’s matchup against the Panthers with a league-leading 30 touchdown passes and only 2 interceptions.
This stellar performance has helped guide the Rams to a 9-2 record and first-place position in the NFC West, and it has also put Stafford in the driver’s seat to take home his first-ever NFL MVP award.
The former first overall pick out of Georgia also made some more history earlier in the season, becoming just the ninth quarterback in NFL history to cross the 400 career passing TD threshold.
Stafford may be 37, but he’s playing some of the best football of his entire career, and it’s translating to success for his team as they chase down another Super Bowl win.
