Two earthquakes shook near Idyllwild in Riverside County’s San Jacinto Mountains on Thursday evening, Nov. 27.
The first earthquake hit around 5:36 p.m. with a magnitude 3.8, according to the Southern California Earthquake Data Center. A second one was felt seconds later with a magnitude of 3.5.
Both earthquakes struck about 6 miles southwest of Idyllwild.
There were no immediate reports of damage tied to the quakes. Damage usually doesn’t happen with quakes at or below magnitude 4.0, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
