ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Heading to an Amerks home game soon? You might notice some new technology in the concession stands.
Blue Cross Arena announced Wednesday “Amazon’s Just Walk Out” technology that will be at concessions in sections 109 and 121.
With the new technology, guests will be able to swipe or tap a credit card to enter, grab their items, then leave. The system will detect what they chose and charges their card automatically after they exit the area.
Earlier this year, VenuWorks took over management of Blue Cross Arena. According to the arena’s website, the company has since put in place various upgrades, such as grab and go kiosks, updated concessions, new point-of-sale systems, and more.
The arena says on its website this new system is designed to make food, drink, and merchandise purchases faster and more convenient.
People attending the Amerks game Wednesday night against the Cleveland Monsters will be the first to use the new technology.
