Golesh, 41, is in his third year at South Florida, his first head coaching job. He’s a former assistant of Tennessee coach Josh Heupel at UCF and UT.

USF has a 22-15 record under Golesh. The Bulls posted a 1-11 record in 2022 before Golesh took over. He guided USF to bowl wins in each of his first 2 seasons, the first coach in program history to achieve that feat. South Florida is currently 8-3 in 2025, notably knocking off ranked Boise State and Florida teams to open the season.

Golesh was Tennessee’s offensive coordinator and tight ends coach for 2021 and ’22, Heupel’s first 2 seasons with the program. UT ranked No. 1 in the nation in scoring (47.33), yards per game (538.1), points per possession (3.24) and yards per play (7.35) in 2022. Under Golesh, Tennessee was the only team to average over 300 yards passing and 200 yards rushing on the 2022 season.

Golesh succeeds Sam Pittman as the full-time Arkansas head coach. Bobby Petrino has served as interim head coach since Pittman’s dismissal on Sept. 28.
