ALLEN, N.Y. — A 65-year-old man from Florida has been arrested after State Police say he shot his two brothers during a hunting trip in Allen in Allegany County.
State Police say on Nov. 23 at around 10 p.m., troopers responded to a cabin on Botsford Hollow Road in Allen, and found two people dead inside.
After investigating, State Police say they learned three brothers, Scot, Mark, and David Thompson were staying at a hunting cabin and got into an altercation. They say Scot shot and killed Mark and David with a rifle, and then left the scene in David’s car.
The car in which State Police say Scot took off in was sent out to law enforcement. Livingston County Sheriff’s Office and Geneseo Police Department found the car and took Scot into custody.
On Nov. 24, Scot was charged with murder and criminal use of a firearm. He was turned over to troopers for processing, and will be transported to the Allegany County Jail.
State Police say an autopsy is scheduled for the victims at Strong Memorial Hospital.
