The 88-year-old attended the 43rd Torino Film Festival in Italy on Nov. 25, where she received the Stella della Mole Award for her contributions to the art of cinema over the course of her life. Ahead of the official event, Base praised Redgrave in a statement to Variety about the special award, boldly declaring, “When you are nominated for an Oscar six times, you’re no longer just one of the world’s greatest actresses: you become a legend."
Along with her Academy Award win in the '70s, Redgrave was nominated for the first time in 1967 for Morgan!, getting a nomination again two years later for her performance in Isadora. She also received Oscar nominations in 1972 for Mary, Queen of Scots, 1985 for The Bostonians, and 1993 for Howards End.
Redgrave also attended the Torino Film Festival to present the world premiere of her latest film, The Estate, a thriller written and directed by her son and co-starring her husband.
Before meeting Nero, Redgrave welcomed two daughters, the late Natasha Richardson and Joely Richardson, with her first husband, Tony Richardson. Nero also had a second son named Frank Sparanero with Mauricia Mena in 1983.
