For the second time in four games, the Last Two Minute Report proved to be the Chicago Bulls’ friend.
In the team’s closely contested 130-127 win over the Denver Nuggets, the officials missed a potentially pivotal defensive three-second call on Kevin Huerter in the final minute. If called correctly, the Nuggets would have shot a technical free throw and received the ball down 126-122.
Fast forward to Saturday night’s win over the Washington Wizards, and the stakes were even higher. The Wizards went to inbound with 6.1 seconds left and a chance to reclaim the lead with the score at 121-120. After Keshawn George came to retrieve the ball with Josh Giddey playing him tight, Tre Jones left his man for the double-team. George tried to spin but slipped and lost the ball. Panicked, he tried to dump it on Cam Whitmore. Out of bounds.
With only 1.3 seconds on the scoreboard, all the Bulls had to do was put the ball in play and wipe the sweat off their forehead. According to the NBA’s Last Two Minute Report, however, things should not have been that easy.
Upon review, the officials say that Jones should have been called for a foul on George when making a play at the ball. Here is specifically what they noted in the report: “Jones (CHI) steps forward into George’s (WAS) lower body, initiating illegal contact that causes him to lose his balance.”

— Steph Noh (@StephNoh) November 23, 2025This is one of two incorrect calls the NBA says were made in the final two minutes. The other came with 34.2 seconds left when Jones was at the free-throw line. Both Nikola Vucevic and Alex Sarr apparently committed a lane violation.
As I said in the last post, this isn’t the first time the Last Two Minute Report has worked for or against the Bulls, and it sure won’t be the last this season. You still have to give the team credit for closing things out. At the same time, this is a good reminder of why the Bulls will want to avoid these situations in the future. The more control you have down the stretch, the less concerned you have to be about these late-game calls.
