The men’s 200 free proved to be a close match-up, as only .42 separated 1st-place from 4th-place. Stanford’s Henry McFadden won in 1:33.33, while SMU’s Francis Brennan took 2nd in 1:33.56 and knocked another .36 off of his lifetime best after just setting his previous best time (1:33.92) on night one. Snagging 3rd-place was Andres Dupont from Stanford with a 1:33.68.

Chirafisi was not the only Ute to turn in a top-ranking swim, as teammate Strahinja Maslo took the runner-up spot in the 400 IM in 3:43.91. His performance logged the second fastest time in Utah program history, just .57 off of the school record (3:43.34) held by Brandon Miller.

Stanford freshman Ethan Ekk enjoyed a huge performance in the 400 IM. He claimed the victory in the 400 IM by almost two seconds, charging into the wall in 3:42.01 and dropping 2.77 seconds from his lifetime best.

SMU’s Luke Sitz turned in a top performance on the board, winning the 1-meter diving event with a finals’ score of 397.95 points. During the prelims competition, Sitz broke the pool record in the event with a score of 404.05, besting the previous record (402.95) from 2018 by just over 1 point.

Harriet Rogers picked up the first win of the night for the Razorbacks, prevailing in the 100 fly with a personal best time of 52.45. She built a solid lead over the short race, charging into the wall almost a full second ahead of runner-up Annemarie Vlaic (53.38) from SMU. Rogers later added a second individual win in the 200 free, throwing down a time of 1:46.56 to narrowly outtouch Utah’s Isabella Riso (1:46.67).

Arkansas’s Holly Robinson picked up a victory in the 400 IM, posting a personal best time of 4:12.26. Shortly after, the Razorbacks won the 200 free relay thanks to the team of Rogers, Tammy Greenwood, Delaney Harrison and Viola Petrini, who touched in 1:29.10 ahead of SMU.

Their win was followed by a 1-2 performance on the diving boards, as Maria-Jose Sanchez and Malea Martinez took 1st and 2nd on the 3-meter, respectively. Sanchez topped the podium with 357.55 points, while Martinez narrowly snagged the runner-up spot with 324.00 points.
